NEW EYES is a collective of Black cultural workers committed to criticism, journalism, and archiving as part of a Black Radical tradition.

Through education, advocacy, publishing, mutual aid, and other kinds of collective resource sharing— with those in our organization and beyond— we will counter a media apparatus that continues to push our legacies to the margins.

We understand Blackness as a global political identity in opposition to oppression, discrimination, and exploitation, and understand the criticality of preserving the archive as this identity falls under threat.

By commemorating the work of our forebears, amplifying the work of our peers, and advancing Black cultural workers through mentorship and professional development, we aim to ensure that critical Black voices exist in the present and will exist in the future.
